In this role, you will be responsible for dispensing spectacles and other optical products, working closely with patients to select the best lenses and spectacle frames for their needs. As an optician, you will have a significant impact on the lives of our customers, helping them to see the world more clearly and confidently.
Key Responsibilities- Verify order data entry and compare Rx to original Rx provided from the doctor to ensure accuracy.
- Complete proper order filing procedures, including filing the order under the correct ABC system.
- Deliver sales by providing excellent customer service in person and over the phone, educating patients on the benefits of available products and recommending those that will improve their visual needs.
Maintaining accurate records, taking measurements, and reading prescriptions on the lensometer are critical tasks in this role. Timely notification of product readiness and advancement of the order in the system, including received, notified, and dispense of each job, are also essential functions. Handling all money-related transactions, adhering to company policies and procedures, and supporting members in making eyeglass adjustments and repairs are additional responsibilities.
RequirementsTo be successful in this position, you must be licensed to work as an optician within the State and keep your license up to date and active. Knowledge of optical products and business practices is preferred. Strong interpersonal skills, organizational skills, and an attention to detail are required. High school diploma, college degree, or experience in big box wholesale, retail, and/or optical industries is also preferred.
