**Salary:** $3,291 per week
We are seeking a skilled Computed Tomography Technologist to join our team. As a CT technologist, you will operate CT scanners to perform diagnostic imaging procedures for patients.
Job Description:
Diagnostic Imaging Specialist RoleThe ideal candidate will have experience working with CT scanners and possess excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Obtain high-quality images of patients' bodies using CT scanners.
- Prepare patients for CT scans by explaining the procedure and ensuring they are comfortable.
- Verify patient information, including medical history and allergies, to ensure accurate diagnosis and appropriate imaging protocols.
- Position patients properly on the CT table to obtain the necessary images.
Image Acquisition and Processing:
- Operate and calibrate the CT scanner to ensure proper settings for each scan.
- Administer contrast agents or dye injections (under physician or radiologist guidance) to enhance image clarity during certain CT procedures.
Patient Care and Safety:
- Follow safety protocols to minimize radiation exposure to patients.
- Maintain a sterile, safe, and clean environment in the CT room.
- Ensure proper patient positioning to prevent any risk of injury or discomfort during the scan.
Team Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with physicians, radiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to determine the appropriate imaging procedures.
- Document patient information, scan parameters, and any complications in the electronic health record.
Equipment Maintenance and Calibration:
- Maintain, clean, and perform basic troubleshooting on the CT scanner and associated equipment.
- Perform routine inspections and calibration of CT equipment.
Radiation Safety and Compliance:
- FOLLOW ALL RADIATION SAFETY PROTOCOLS TO PROTECT BOTH PATIENTS AND STAFF.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, including HIPAA and safety standards.
Quality Assurance and Improvement:
- Review CT images for quality and ensure that all required areas are captured.
- Work closely with radiologists to ensure that images meet diagnostic standards.
