The ideal candidate will have a strong background in computed tomography (CT) imaging and possess excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare professionals.
**Job Description:
Computed Tomography Technologist RoleWe are seeking an experienced CT technologist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating CT scanners to perform diagnostic imaging procedures for patients. This includes preparing patients for scans, verifying patient information, and ensuring accurate diagnosis and appropriate imaging protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare patients for CT scans by explaining the procedure and ensuring they are comfortable.
- Verify patient information, including medical history and allergies, to ensure accurate diagnosis and appropriate imaging protocols.
- Position patients properly on the CT table to obtain the necessary images.
- Instruct patients on how to hold their breath or remain still during scans.
Image Quality and Review:
- Review CT images for quality and ensure that all required areas are captured.
- Work closely with radiologists to ensure that images meet diagnostic standards.
Patient Safety and Comfort:
- FOLLOW SAFETY PROTOCOLS TO MINIMIZE RADIATION EXPOSURE TO PATIENTS.
- Maintain a sterile, safe, and clean environment in the CT room.
- Ensure proper patient positioning to prevent any risk of injury or discomfort during the scan.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with physicians, radiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to determine the appropriate imaging procedures.
- Document patient information, scan parameters, and any complications in the electronic health record.
Equipment Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
- Maintain, clean, and perform basic troubleshooting on the CT scanner and associated equipment.
- Perform routine inspections and calibration of CT equipment.
Radiation Safety and Compliance:
- FOLLOW ALL RADIATION SAFETY PROTOCOLS TO PROTECT BOTH PATIENTS AND STAFF.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, including HIPAA and safety standards.
Documentation and Record Keeping:
- Accurately document imaging procedures and patient information.
- Ensure all documentation is compliant with hospital or clinic policies and industry standards.
Patient Education and Support:
- Provide education and guidance to patients regarding aftercare following contrast injections.
- Address patient concerns about the procedure and offer support as necessary.
Professional Development and Training:
- Participate in continuing education to stay current with advancements in CT imaging technology.
- Maintain professional certification and licensure.
