Pathology Assistant Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Pathology Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our laboratory, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our pathology services.
- The successful candidate will assist in the preparation of human surgical specimens, perform gross descriptions, and troubleshoot issues with Dragon Voice recognition software.
- You will be responsible for creating new templates for dictation, accurately printing cassettes, and completing worksheets for each specimen.
- A high level of attention to detail and ability to work independently is essential for this role.
Gross Room Quality Control and Equipment Maintenance
You will be responsible for performing daily and monthly instrument procedures, troubleshooting quality control failures, and maintaining an adequate supply of inventory.
Team Skills
This role requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to participate in team efforts to improve workflow and contribute to department initiatives.
Administrative Responsibilities
You will assist in organizing anatomic pathology conferences, preparing documents and tissue for send out cases, and performing other administrative tasks as required.
