Optical Product Specialist

Opticians play a crucial role in ensuring the health and well-being of their patients by dispensing spectacles and other optical products. This position requires strong interpersonal skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
The ideal candidate will be licensed to work as an optician within the state and possess knowledge of optical products and business practices. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, but a college degree and/or experience in big box wholesale, retail, and/or optical is preferred.
Responsibilities include verifying order data entry, comparing prescriptions to original prescriptions provided by doctors, and delivering sales by providing excellent customer service. The optician must also take measurements, assure correct frame selection for prescription power, read prescriptions on the lensometer, and notify customers when their orders are ready.
The job requires strong communication skills, the ability to explain procedures to customers, and a pleasant demeanor at all times. Additionally, the optician must be able to work independently and as part of a team to achieve goals.
