Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Med Surg Discipline: RN Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days Employment Type: Local Contract WCS Healthcare is seeking an experienced Med/Surg Nurse for a contract assignment at a well-regarded hospital in Boston, MA. Job Function: Day Shift or Night Shift. 3x12. Prepares, administers (orally, subcutaneously, through an IV), and records prescribed medications. Reports adverse reactions to medications or treatments in accordance with policy regarding medication administration by a licensed registered nurse. Educates patients on surgical procedures. Records patients’ medical information and vital signs. Monitors and adjusts specialized equipment used on patients, interpreting and recording electronic displays. Job Requirements: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; BSN preferred. Current RN license for the state of Massachusetts. 2 years of acute Med/Surg nursing experience required. BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association required. Level One Trauma experience required. Travel nursing experience required.
