Position Summary/Department Summary: We are currently seeking a 40-hour Outpatient Physical Therapist for our Boston location. Be a part of our inter-disciplinary team and provide high-quality, rehabilitation for our pediatric patients. Our PTs help patients — from newborns to young adults — gain movement, strength, coordination, balance, and function. Key Responsibilities: Performing complex diagnostic evaluations upon referral and in accordance with departmental and professional guidelines and standards Reviewing patient medical history/record and selects, administers, and interprets standardized and non-standardized tests and measurements to assess patients’ functional status related to cardiopulmonary, developmental, musculoskeletal, neurological, and sensorimotor function. Integrating knowledge into clinical decisions and recommendations Developing and implementing individualized patient treatment programs. Establishing treatment goals and administers appropriate physical therapy procedures and modalities Discharge plans and home treatment programs, and providing education to patients and families Recommending orthotics, adaptive/assistive equipment, and technology for patients with complex, rare, or multiple dysfunctions. Liaison with equipment designers and vendors regarding equipment specifications and patient needs. Training patients, families, and caretakers in the use/operation of prescribed orthotics/equipment, monitoring and evaluating effectiveness, and initiating modifications as needed. Recording assessments, diagnoses, and treatment inpatient medical records according to established documentation standards. Preparing reports, correspondence, referrals, and other materials for schools, providers, payers, and others as needed. Assigning standardized billing codes and corresponding charges required for reimbursement. Minimum Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy Experience: One to two years of previous physical therapy experience preferred. Pediatric experience is highly preferred.
