Functional Safety Engineer

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define functional safety requirements for systems and components.
• Develop safety concepts, strategies, and mechanisms tailored to project needs.
• Conduct in-depth Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Fault Tree Analysis (FTA).
• Design and implement safety mechanisms, including fail-safe features and diagnostic capabilities.
• Create comprehensive safety documentation, including safety requirements specifications, safety case reports, and technical design documents.
• Define and execute safety validation and verification plans to ensure compliance and effectiveness.
• Interface with software and hardware development teams to integrate safety requirements seamlessly.

YOUR PROFILE:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or a related field.
• A minimum of 2 years of demonstrated experience in functional safety engineering, particularly within the automotive sector.
• Strong understanding of relevant functional safety standards, such as ISO 26262 or FMVSS, and their practical application.
• Proficient in hazard analysis, risk assessment, FMEA, and fault tree analysis.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills with a proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Effective communication skills to engage and manage relationships with various project stakeholders.
• Familiarity with ANSYS MEDINI is a plus.
• ISO 26262 Functional Safety Professional certification is an advantage.
