The Opportunity

We are looking for a skilled Data Engineer to join our growing team and support a transformative internal project in Belgium. You will play a key role in building scalable data pipelines, integrating cloud solutions, and designing maintainable architectures that empower data-driven decision-making. This role offers the chance to blend strong technical expertise with practical implementation, ensuring that solutions remain robust, efficient, and easily maintainable.

Your Responsabilities

• Design, develop, and implement scalable data pipelines and ELT/ETL workflows using modern tools and cloud platforms.
• Work with Azure (Data Factory, Data Lake, SQL, Service Bus, API Management, Container Services) to build and maintain production-ready data environments.
• Leverage SQL, Python, and dbt for data transformation, modeling, and automation.
• Apply software engineering best practices (version control, CI/CD, documentation, logging, and monitoring) to ensure long-term maintainability.
• Collaborate closely with client stakeholders and Agoya's Head of Data Intelligence to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Build and optimize APIs (using FastAPI or similar frameworks) for seamless system integrations.
• Develop data models and contribute to metadata management (using tools such as OpenMetadata, if applicable).
• Support or integrate with analytics layers, including Power BI, to ensure data readiness for business insights.
• Identify and propose improvements to data workflows, infrastructure, and automation processes.

Your Profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (required).
• 3-5 years of experience as a Data Engineer (required).
• Strong skills in SQL, Python, and dbt (required).
• Hands-on experience with Azure Cloud (Data Factory, Data Lake, SQL) (required).
• Solid understanding of ETL/ELT patterns and data modeling principles (required).
• Proficiency in software engineering best practices: CI/CD, version control (Git), documentation, logging, and monitoring (required).
• Experience with Airflow or Dagster (highly desirable).
• Exposure to Power BI and FastAPI (highly desirable).
• Familiarity with Azure Service Bus, Container Services, Azure API Management, OpenMetadata, or Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform) (nice-to-have).
• Analytical, collaborative, proactive, and detail-oriented with a focus on delivering high-quality, maintainable solutions.
• Fluency in English.
