Job Description
As a Design Release Engineer (DRE) HVAC, you will be responsible for the definition, development, release, and integration of HVAC components and sub‑systems within a vehicle platform. You will lead the engineering activities required to ensure that HVAC parts meet performance, cost, timing, and quality objectives. Working closely with cross‑functional teams and suppliers, you will secure the end‑to‑end delivery of the HVAC system throughout the product development lifecycle. Job Description - Grade Specific

Main Responsibilities:
  • Follow the design and development of vehicle HVAC components.
  • Define technical specifications and update the related documentation.
  • Ensure proper integration of HVAC parts into the vehicle (packaging, interfaces).
  • Coordinate validation activities: test plans, testing, and result analysis.
  • Work with suppliers to ensure quality, timing, and cost targets are met.
  • Manage design files (CAD), bill of materials (BOM), and engineering deliverables.
  • Support the resolution of technical issues during development.
  • Contribute to project meetings and communicate progress to stakeholders.
Required Qualifications:
  • Engineering degree in Mechanical, Thermal, Energy, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in developing or leading an HVAC or thermal subsystem in the automotive industry (+2 years).
  • Good command of design tools (CATIA, NX…) and release engineering processes.
  • Strong understanding of thermal phenomena: heat transfer, thermodynamics, airflow management, refrigerants.
  • Familiarity with validation tools (DVP&R), FMEA, and automotive quality standards (APQP, PPAP).
  • Ability to manage multiple suppliers and collaborate with international teams.
  • Strong communication and reporting skills.
  • Proficiency in English; French is an asset.

Skills:

  • Experience with HVAC systems for electric vehicles (electric HVAC, heat pump, battery thermal management).
  • Knowledge of industrial constraints and manufacturing processes.
  • Strong analytical skills, autonomy, rigor, and problem‑solving mindset.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and multi‑project environment
