Main Mission

As part of your end-of-studies internship, you will actively participate in the design, development, and optimization of the language models (LLM) that power MIA Lya. Supervised by experts in AI and natural language processing, you will work on real-world challenges involving model training, fine-tuning, performance evaluation, and cultural and linguistic adaptation, in an innovative and meaningful technological environment. The ideal candidate's favorite words are learning, data, scale, and agility. You will leverage your strong collaboration skills and ability to extract valuable insights from highly complex data sets to ask the right questions and find the right answers.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze raw data: assessing quality, cleansing, structuring for downstream processing of multilingual datasets (French, Darija Arabic, Berber, English).
• Design accurate and scalable prediction algorithms for language model optimization.
• Participate in the collection, cleaning, and preparation of multilingual datasets.
• Contribute to the fine-tuning and optimization of language models to improve MIA Lya's performance.
• Implement automatic and qualitative evaluation pipelines for AI-generated responses.
• Analyze model performance and propose improvements based on rigorous metrics.
• Collaborate with engineering team to bring analytical prototypes to production.
• Generate actionable insights for business improvements and model enhancement.
• Document processes, methodologies, and results of your experiments.
• Propose innovative solutions in LLM and generative AI.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge in machine learning and deep learning (neural networks, transformers).
• Deep understanding of predictive modeling, machine-learning, clustering and classification techniques, and algorithms.
• Proficiency in Python and ML/DL libraries (PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face Transformers, scikit-learn).
• Fluency in programming languages (Python, C, C++, Java, SQL).
• Knowledge of language model architectures (GPT, BERT, LLaMA, etc.).
• Experience with LLM fine-tuning and techniques such as RLHF, RAG, or prompt engineering.
• Skills in natural language processing (NLP) and multilingual text data analysis.
• Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure) and MLOps tools.
• Familiarity with Big Data frameworks and visualization tools (Cassandra, Hadoop, Spark, Tableau).
• Knowledge of Darija Arabic, Berber, and/or English is a major asset.

Desired Profile

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in quantitative field (Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, AI, etc.).
• Final-year student in engineering school or master's degree, or at least 1-2 years of experience in quantitative analytics or data modeling.
• Looking for a 4 to 6-month end-of-studies internship.
