As part of its global expansion, Pay10 has established a new regional office in Morocco, which is preparing to launch its payment activities in full compliance with Bank Al-Maghrib's regulations. Pay10 Morocco will introduce innovative and seamless payment solutions for consumers, agents, and merchants, combining the group's international expertise with Morocco's dynamic and expanding financial ecosystem.

Position Overview

We are looking for a skilled
Database Administrator (DBA)
with hands-on expertise in
MySQL
and
MongoDB
to join our technology team. The DBA will be responsible for designing, implementing, securing, monitoring, and optimizing databases that power our mission-critical FinTech applications hosted on on-premises servers .

The role requires deep technical knowledge of
RDBMS
and
NoSQL
systems, high-availability architectures, performance tuning, and compliance with financial industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

Database Administration & Operations

• Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain
  MySQL
  and
  MongoDB
  clusters in production and non-production environments.
• Ensure
  high availability (HA)
  ,
  scalability
  , and
  fault-tolerance
  of database systems.
• Implement and manage
  replication, sharding, clustering, and failover strategies
  .
• Automate database provisioning, patching, and maintenance using scripting or configuration management tools.
• Manage and optimize database storage, indexing, and partitioning.

Performance & Optimization

• Monitor database health, query performance, and resource utilization using monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Percona Monitoring, Grafana).
• Perform
  query optimization, schema tuning, and indexing strategies
  for both transactional and analytical workloads.
• Proactively troubleshoot slow queries, deadlocks, and bottlenecks.

Backup, Recovery & Security

• Design and implement
  backup and recovery strategies
  ensuring minimal downtime and data loss.
• Perform regular disaster recovery (DR) tests and ensure
  RPO/RTO compliance
  .
• Secure databases by managing
  user access, encryption, auditing, and role-based permissions
  .
• Collaborate with security teams to meet compliance requirements (
  PCI-DSS, ISO 27001, GDPR, SOC 2
  ).

Collaboration & Support

• Work closely with application developers to design
  efficient schema and data models
  .
• Support developers with query optimization and database best practices.
• Provide
  24/7 on-call support
  for critical production issues and incident resolution.
• Document database processes, configurations, and operational runbooks.

Qualifications & Skills

• Education:
  Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Experience:
  5–8+ years of DBA experience with
  MySQL
  and
  MongoDB
  in high-availability production environments.
• Strong expertise in:
• MySQL replication, clustering
• MongoDB sharding, replica sets
• Query optimization and performance tuning
• Backup and restore tools (Percona XtraBackup, mysqldump, MongoDB Ops Manager, mongodump/mongorestore)
• Monitoring tools (Percona, Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, ELK)
• Proficiency with
  Linux system administration
  and
  shell scripting
  .
• Hands-on experience with
  cloud databases (AWS RDS/Aurora, MongoDB Atlas, Azure Cosmos DB)
  is good to have
• Knowledge of
  security best practices
  for database hardening.
• Familiarity with
  DevOps, CI/CD pipelines
  , and
  infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Ansible)
  is a plus.
