Pepper Breeder

At CapGen Seeds, a rapidly growing horticultural seed breeding company, we are looking for a Pepper Breeder at our research station in Agadir (Morocco).

What will you do?

* Design and implement pepper breeding programs aligned with market objectives and customer needs.

* Plan, select, and evaluate field and greenhouse trials.

* Analyse results, prepare reports, and propose next steps for the breeding program.

* Work as part of the research team, collaborating with development, production, and sales teams to ensure breeding activities are aligned with company objectives.

* Manage internal and external trial sites, ensuring proper execution and accurate data recording.

* Supervise data collection and provide training to the technical support team.

* Ensure compliance with good research practices and biosafety standards throughout the program.

* Stay updated on market trends, new technologies, and advances in plant genetics relevant to pepper breeding.

Requirements

* Minimum of 5 years' experience in pepper breeding programs.

* Degree in Agronomy, Biotechnology, Genetics, or a related field.

* Proven experience in designing, managing, and evaluating field and greenhouse trials.

* Strong knowledge of plant genetics and breeding methodologies.

* Fluent English (Spanish proficiency is an advantage).

* Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills in an international environment.

* Results-oriented, innovative, and product development focused.

* Driving licence and willingness to travel nationally and internationally.

* Additional qualifications such as a Master's degree in Plant Breeding/Genetic Improvement, Plant Production, or a PhD are an advantage.

Reporting to:

This position reports directly to the Senior Breeding Manager at CapGen Morocco, and also to the company's Global Head of Research.
