Fert-Explorer is a specialized Innovation platform dedicated to the development of innovative and customised formulations of fertilizers and animal nutrition feeds, ensuring product compliance with international standards and integrating environmental considerations into fertilizer development.

Job Description

Fert-Explorer at Mohammed VI Polytechnic University invites applications for a research engineer position, under a 1-year limited-term contract, in chemistry, formulation chemistry and fine chemistry.

The work will focus on the development of advanced formulations with optimized physicochemical and functional properties. The appointee will contribute to the design, preparation, characterization, and performance evaluation of innovative chemical formulations, while ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and international standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and manage experimental setups for the development of chemical formulations.
  • Develop and optimize new formulations and processes, ensuring reproducibility and scalability.
  • Characterize physico-chemical, rheological, mechanical, and morphological properties of materials and formulations.
  • Conduct functional performance testing under defined conditions.
  • Prepare technical and scientific reports.
  • Ensure strict compliance with safety, regulatory, and quality standards.
  • Contribute to scientific dissemination through presentations, reports, publications, and patents.

Qualifications & Skills

  • PhD or equivalent in Chemistry, Formulation Chemistry, Fine Chemistry, or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience in chemical product formulation, with strong knowledge of formulation and analytical chemistry.
  • Hands-on expertise in laboratory techniques, including rheology, microscopy, spectroscopy, and mechanical testing.
  • Solid skills in data analysis, problem-solving, and scientific writing.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, with a strong results-oriented mindset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proficiency in English and French.
