Role Overview
The Branch & Business Development Manager is a key leadership position within AHZ, responsible for driving student recruitment from Morocco to the United Kingdom. This role oversees all branch operations, leads the recruitment team, and delivers high-quality counselling and conversion outcomes.
The position requires strong commercial awareness, excellent relationship-building skills, and a deep understanding of the Moroccan education landscape. The Manager will serve as the lead counsellor in the branch while ensuring that all staff follow AHZ processes and deliver exceptional service to prospective students.
Key Responsibilities1. Recruitment Strategy & Performance
● Develop and implement an effective recruitment strategy to attract high-quality Moroccan students to UK institutions.
● Work with the Director of International Recruitment to set and achieve branch KPIs across applications, offers, CAS, and enrolments.
● Monitor performance data and adjust strategies to ensure targets are consistently met or exceeded.
2. Team Leadership & Development
● Lead, motivate, and manage the branch team (team leaders and counsellors) to ensure high levels of productivity and service quality.
● Provide continuous coaching, performance management, and professional development to all team members.
● Foster a strong team culture aligned with the AHZ way of working.
3. CRM & Pipeline Management
● Oversee the effective use of HubSpot CRM within the branch.
● Ensure accurate, timely, and complete updating of student records at all stages of the recruitment pipeline.
● Use CRM data to track student progression, identify bottlenecks, and drive improvements in conversion rates.
4. Market Engagement & Business Development
● Build and maintain strong relationships with Moroccan schools, universities, international schools, language centres, and other relevant organisations.
● Identify and secure new partnerships that expand AHZ's market reach.
● Represent AHZ at education fairs, open days, exhibitions, and high-impact recruitment events nationwide.
5. Student Counselling & Support
● Serve as lead counsellor to provide expert advice on UK academic programs, entry requirements, visa processes, and cultural preparation.
● Ensure the branch delivers high-quality, ethical advice aligned with UK universities' and UKVI's standards.
● Oversee the entire application process to ensure accuracy and timely submission of documents.
6. Compliance & Quality Assurance
● Ensure all branch activities follow AHZ policies, partner university requirements, and UKVI and AQF guidelines.
● Maintain high standards of counselling integrity and application quality.
7. Data Analysis & Reporting
● Analyse application, offer, conversion, and enrolment trends to inform decision-making.
● Provide regular performance reports to senior management and recommend corrective actions when needed.
8. Events & Promotional Activities
● Lead the planning and execution of branch events, workshops, seminars, and recruitment campaigns.
● Coordinate with marketing and central teams to deliver impactful promotional initiatives.
9. Budget & Resource Management
● Collaborate with Country Finance and Head Office Finance teams to manage the branch's annual budget.
● Allocate resources strategically to maximise return on investment and branch performance.
Skills & Qualifications
Essential
● Excellent communication skills in both
English and Arabic
.
● Proven experience in student recruitment, education consultancy, business development, or a similar role.
● Strong leadership skills with experience managing high-performing teams.
● Demonstrated ability to reach and exceed sales or recruitment targets.
● Strong understanding of the UK higher education system.
● Analytical ability to interpret performance data and market trends.
● Exceptional relationship-building and networking skills.
● Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
● Minimum
3 years' experience
in higher education or international recruitment
● Experience working with the UK universities sector.
● Bachelor's degree required.
Desirable
● Master's degree preferred.
● Familiarity with the Moroccan education system (Baccalaureate, IG, IB, American Diploma, etc.).
● Experience with HubSpot or other CRM tools.
