Accountabilities
The Senior Loan Officer will report to the Head of Office and work closely with the technical business specialists in HQ. Frequent travelling inside the country of residence as well as to the countries under the coverage of the Regional Representative Office and HQ is expected. The selected candidate will be expected to perform the following duties:
- Support the Head of the Regional office in facilitating the development of a project pipeline, identifying potential opportunities through market and sector analysis, business network and preliminary evaluation of eligible counterparts and projects (e.g. private companies, banks, microfinance institutions, public utilities).
- Support HQ business owners with monitoring and coordination activities for the ongoing operations.
- Monitor relevant sectors and market developments and provide briefing to HQ counterparts.
- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with relevant stakeholders both in the country of residence and in the countries covered by the regional hub. Relevant counterparts include local institutions, Italian government and cooperation agencies, EU institutions and agencies, local companies, financial institutions, development finance institutions, multilateral banks, etc.
- Support the Head of Regional Office and HQ in drafting briefings, speeches and other material for official visits and other high level institutional meetings linked to operational activities.
- Participate and contribute when required to the activities organized and/or joined by the Regional Office (events, even with stakeholders, team meetings, preparation of publications/presentations, multilateral working groups, forum, conferences).
Qualifications and Requirements
- Education: Bachelor or preferably a master's degree in Finance/Economics or a business-related discipline.
- Experience: At least 3 years of relevant experience in international markets for a commercial bank, investment bank or development finance institution. Robust knowledge of financial modelling, credit analysis, and negotiation. Knowledge of the political, business and regulatory environment in [ ]. - Languages: Excellent knowledge of spoken and written English, [French] and local language.
