Homeroom Teacher

The Grade 6 Homeroom Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in English, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies, while providing academic guidance and social-emotional support to students. The teacher plays a key role in preparing students for a successful transition to middle school.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, prepare, and teach lessons in English, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies in alignment with the school curriculum and standards.
• Develop engaging and differentiated instructional strategies to meet diverse student needs.
• Create a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment that supports learning.
• Assess, evaluate, and document student progress through assignments, projects, and assessments.
• Provide timely feedback and implement intervention or enrichment strategies as needed.
• Maintain effective classroom management and promote positive behavior.
• Act as the primary homeroom teacher, supporting students' academic, social, and emotional development.
• Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student performance and well-being.
• Collaborate with fellow teachers, specialists, and school leadership.
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school-wide activities.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field (teaching certification preferred).
• Experience teaching English, Math, Science, and Social Studies, preferably at the Grade 6 level.
• Strong subject knowledge and effective instructional practices.
• Excellent classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to motivate and support students in an inclusive learning environment.
• Strong sense of professionalism, responsibility, and teamwork.
