The School Psychologist at LAR is a vital member of the Student Support & Inclusion Team. You will provide psychological services that facilitate the "6 Cs" (Character, Citizenship, Collaboration, Communication, Creativity, and Critical Thinking) by removing emotional and behavioral barriers to learning. You will ensure that LAR remains a "happy, safe, and caring environment" as per the school's core mission.
Individual & Group Support
- Provide confidential counseling for students across Primary and Secondary phases, addressing issues such as anxiety, social integration, and digital wellbeing.
- Conduct psycho-educational assessments to support the Head of SEND and Inclusion in identifying students who require specialized learning pathways.
- Implement Evidence-Based Interventions (EBIs) for students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
Collaboration within the "SMART" Environment
- Use the school's digital platforms (Toddle, Century, etc.) to monitor student wellbeing trends and document interventions securely.
- Work closely with the Academic Coordinators to ensure that student wellbeing is integrated into the Project-Based Learning (PBL) framework.
- Train staff on "British Values" (Mutual Respect, Individual Liberty) and how they manifest in student behavior and mental health.
Community & Parental Engagement
- Act as a bridge between the school and the Rabat medical community (pediatricians, psychiatrists, and speech therapists).
- Lead workshops for the diverse LAR parent community on topics like "Resilience in the Digital Age" and "Supporting Transitions in International Schooling."
Academic & Professional Requirements
- Education: Master's Degree (Bac +5) in School, Clinical, or Educational Psychology.
- Licensing: Must be eligible for/possess authorization to practice from the General Secretariat of the Government (SGG) in Morocco.
- Language: Professional fluency in English is mandatory (instructional language). Proficiency in French or Arabic is highly advantageous for parental communication.
Experience & Skills
- Proven experience in a K-12 school setting, ideally within a British International or BSO-accredited school.
- Familiarity with the UK Safeguarding standards (Keeping Children Safe in Education - KCSIE).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, "Smart School" environment where technology is deeply embedded in daily life.
