Backend QA Automation Engineer

Lotel is a high-growth hotel booking platform. We are looking for a Backend QA Specialist to

ensure the reliability, security, and scalability of our core services. You will be responsible for

building a testing fortress around our transaction-heavy API, complex data mapping logic, and

real-time inventory synchronization.

Key Responsibilities

• Test Strategy: Design and implement a comprehensive testing strategy (Pyramid of

Testing) covering unit, integration, and end-to-end flows.

• API Reliability: Achieve 80%+ code coverage using standard testing frameworks for our

core services.

• Contract & Integration Testing: Ensure robust communication with third-party service

providers through advanced mocking and intercepting techniques.

• Performance & Load: Design stress tests to simulate high-concurrency traffic (10k+

concurrent users) and identify system bottlenecks.

Data Integrity
: Validate complex database migrations, relational integrity, and high-

performance caching layers.

Experience Requirements

Professional Background: Minimum of 1 year of professional experience in Backend Quality

Assurance or Software Development with a focus on testing.

High-Traffic Systems: Proven experience testing high-concurrency systems (10,000

concurrent users) and handling large-scale data synchronization.

Industry Experience: Previous experience in E-commerce, Fintech, or Travel-tech

industries is highly preferred due to the transactional nature of the platform.

Tooling Track Record: Demonstrated experience setting up automated testing frameworks

from scratch in a production environment.

Technical Requirements

Language: Expert proficiency in TypeScript and

Testing Ecosystem: Mastery of tools like Jest, Supertest, and performance testing

frameworks (e.g., K6).

Database & ORM: Strong SQL skills and deep understanding of Object-Relational Mapping

(ORM) patterns (e.g., TypeORM).

Architecture: Solid understanding of JWT-based authentication, distributed caching

strategies, and RESTful API design.

Infrastructure: Familiarity with containerization and cloud infrastructure services.
