The Opportunity

We are seeking a Clinical Technical & Research Specialist in the Africa region, reporting to the Business Manager based in our office in Casablanca.

In this role, the successful Clinical Technical & Research Specialist will have coordination of Investigator Initiated Research (IIR) and Cochlear Driven Studies in the region. The Clinical Technical & Research Specialist collaborates directly with the Research Manager (Dubai) and in alignment with the European and Global research strategy in all aspects of to ensure high Cochlear research standards. The Clinical Technical & Research Specialist supports the Clinical-Technical Team with profound clinical-technical and scientific knowledge.

The position is responsible to provide technical support on all aspects of Cochlear Implantable Solutions to all clinics and other stakeholders in the responsible region. The position includes the responsibility to support the market penetration of the profoundly and severely hearing-impaired population in the designated region by developing the market and ensuring acceptance of cochlear products as a viable treatment for both adults and children and achieving reimbursement for all products from a clinical/technical perspective. The role adds to ensure a close customer relationship, to increase customer loyalty and to ward off competition in the region, establishing Cochlear as a reliable partner for hearing solutions in the region. In addition, the position includes a sales development responsibility for Cochlear Implantable products by supporting the distributor's sales staff and developing market growth strategy in collaboration with the Business Manager.

As Clinical Technical & Research Specialist, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, training and monitoring training initiatives within the region under the supervision of the training Manager (Dubai) to ensure that health care professionals are trained following the annual training plan.

As a Clinical Technical & Research Specialist, you are expected to focus on Subject Matter Expertise in the field of Audiology, Surgery and Electrophysiology, as well as mentoring of new Clinical Technical team members

Responsibilities include:

  • Clinical Studies and Research - Coordinate and support clinical research in Africa

  • Training - Manage and deliver effective training programs

  • Clinical and Technical support - Deliver clinical and technical support to partners and clinics

Required Skills

  • Broader knowledge of theory and principles within a professional discipline.

  • Knowledge and experience acquired over a few years of work experience.

  • Frequent communication with others outside of own job area or, responsibility for developing some new contacts and relationships.

  • Ensures understanding of difficult issues through adapting and exchanging information in the most appropriate form for the audience.

  • Good interpersonal and relationship building skills.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills.

  • People Management skills.

Desired Skills

  • Experience in/with Life Science/medical devices industry.

  • May work across teams to achieve operational or sales targets.

  • Good understanding of how own job area contributes to the success of the business.

Certifications & Education

  • Master's degree in engineering or Audiology.

  • Clinical Good practices (GCP)

 Languages

  • French (fluent)

  • Arabic (fluent)

  • English (good)

 Work Experience

  • 3-5 years working in Clinical Research field

  • 5-7 years working in ENT Field.

  • Experience in/with life science/medical devices industry.

  • Experience working in international company in industry sector.

  • Experience in surgical support and OR access.
