Senior Accountant – Job Description

Location: Casablanca Morocco

Job Summary

The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing and overseeing daily accounting activities, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulations, and supporting month-end and year-end close processes. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to mentor junior accounting staff.

Key Responsibilities

 Prepare, review, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements

 Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and adjustments

 Perform and review account reconciliations (bank, balance sheet, intercompany)

 Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies

 Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis

 Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and explanations

 Monitor and improve accounting processes and internal controls

 Coordinate with tax, payroll, and finance teams as needed

 Prepare financial reports and analyses for management decision-making

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 5–10+ years of progressive accounting experience or senior-level corporate accounting role
  • Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting and financial reporting
  • Proficiency in accounting softwares
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Familiarity with tax regulations and audit processes
