Job Title: Technical Architectural Draftsman

Location: The team is based in Dubai, UAE but the position is 100% remote

The approach breaks away from the expected and perceived function, as Bone designs novel spaces that can functionally and aesthetically serve different purposes — reinterpreting the way common spaces are defined.

Role Summary

The Senior Technical Architectural Draftsman is responsible for producing highly detailed and accurate technical

drawings for interior and architectural projects. The role requires a strong understanding of construction methods,

interior detailing, and technical coordination between design disciplines. The draftsman will work closely with

Bone's architects and designers to translate design intent into precise, buildable documentation, ensuring the

highest level of technical quality and consistency across all deliverables.

This is a remote-based position requiring strong self-management skills, attention to detail, and a willingness to

learn and grow within Bone's standards and design approach. The draftsman will work under the guidance of senior

team members and collaborate closely with architects and designers to deliver technically coordinated drawing

sets. This position requires the ability to work independently while maintaining strong communication with the

project team through digital platforms.

Key Responsibilities

1. Technical Drawings and Documentation

• Prepare detailed technical drawings, including plans, sections, elevations, reflected ceiling plans, and

detailed joinery/furniture drawings.

• Develop comprehensive drawing packages for Concept, Schematic, Detailed Design, and Tender stages.

• Ensure that all drawings adhere to Bone's internal drafting standards, naming conventions, and

documentation protocols.

• Interpret design concepts and convert them into technically sound documentation that reflects the design

intent accurately.

• Integrate and coordinate drawings with information received from consultants (e.g., MEP, structural,

lighting, and landscape).

• Produce construction-level details and technical solutions to address project-specific challenges.

• Update and revise drawings following team or consultant feedback, maintaining version control and

proper documentation.

1. Technical Coordination

• Coordinate with architects, designers, FF&E coordinators, and consultants to ensure drawing accuracy

and consistency across disciplines.

• Review and align consultant drawings to ensure coordination and detect potential clashes or

discrepancies.

• Participate in virtual coordination meetings when required and contribute to technical discussions

regarding buildability and material applications.

• Provide feedback and suggestions to improve design solutions from a technical standpoint.

1. Quality Control and Standards

• Conduct thorough checks of all drawings before submission to ensure precision, consistency, and

compliance with design intent and technical requirements.

• Maintain a high level of attention to detail across all documentation and ensure quality is upheld under

time constraints.

• Apply Bone's standard templates, title blocks, and layer structures across all drawings.

• Contribute to improving internal drawing standards and workflows through knowledge-sharing and

documentation refinements.

1. Project Documentation and File Management

• Organize and maintain project files and drawing sets according to Bone's file structure and digital

documentation system.

• Ensure consistent version control, proper naming conventions, and traceability of all drawing

submissions.

• Track drawing progress and submission logs in alignment with project timelines and deliverables.

• Support the team in preparing drawing packages and deliverables for client and consultant submissions.

1. Collaboration and Communication

• Work closely with the internal design team through online platforms such as Zoom, Slack, or similar

communication tools.

• Maintain clear and proactive communication with team members and project leads to ensure deadlines

and priorities are met.

• Share progress updates and clarify technical questions in a timely manner.

• Demonstrate strong self-management and time management skills in a remote work environment.

Skills and Competencies

• 5+ years experience in a similar position / role

•
Professional working proficiency in English. Arabic and/or French are a plus, but not required

• Expert-level proficiency in AutoCAD with solid understanding of architectural drafting standards.

• Strong technical understanding of construction detailing, joinery design, and finishing techniques.

• Sound knowledge of coordination with MEP and lighting systems.

• Excellent command of technical English, annotation, and drawing notation.

• High attention to accuracy and quality in all outputs.

• Ability to interpret and document complex designs in a structured, systematic manner.

• Exceptional organizational and documentation skills with strong communication and collaboration skills

in a remote setup.

• Ability to work under pressure while maintaining precision and meeting deadlines.

• Familiarity with Revit, SketchUp, or Adobe software is considered an advantage.
