About the Role

We are a dynamic translation agency looking for a meticulous Final Eye (FE) Specialist to join our remote team. In this role, you will be the last line of defense before delivery. You will ensure that every translated document is not only accurate but also visually identical to the original source.

This is not just a proofreading role; it requires technical skill in file recreation and formatting. You will be responsible for taking complex source files and ensuring the translated versions are perfectly formatted, clean, and client-ready.

Key Responsibilities

• Final Eye (FE) Verification: Perform side-by-side reviews of the translated document vs. the source file to ensure layout, fonts, numbering, and images match perfectly.
• File Recreation (DTP): Recreate complex layouts from non-editable source files (e.g., PDFs, scans) into fully editable Microsoft Word or PowerPoint formats.
• Formatting Fixes: Troubleshoot technical layout issues such as broken Tables of Contents, messed-up headers/footers, and paragraph spacing in Microsoft Office.
• CAT Tool Handling: Work with files exported from translation software to ensure tags and formatting have been preserved.
• Quality Assurance: Verify that all client instructions have been followed strictly.

Requirements

• Language Skills: Professional proficiency in English is required (Written & Spoken). You must be able to communicate clearly with Project Managers and understand complex project instructions.
• Industry Experience: Previous experience working in a Translation/Localization agency (LSP) is highly preferred.
• Microsoft Office Expert: You must be a "power user" of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. You know how to use macros, section breaks, and advanced styling tools.
• CAT Tools Knowledge: Familiarity with major CAT suites (e.g., SDL Trados, MemoQ, Wordfast) is essential. You need to know how to handle these file types and export settings.
• Education: A degree or diploma in Translation, Linguistics, or IT is preferred.
• The "Eagle Eye": You are the type of person who spots a double space or a missing period from a mile away.
