Reporting Specialist

JHC Consulting is currently advising a major regional finance group on its internal reporting and governance frameworks. As we assist their leadership in navigating complex strategic questions, we require a Reporting Specialist to support the production of our firm's written output. This entry level position is fully remote and offers an opportunity to experience high level advisory work through the discipline of data analysis and formal writing. We do not use slides or presentations. Instead, we believe that the act of writing is the act of thinking, and we look for individuals who can help us maintain the rigor of our signed memoranda. The Role In this position, your primary focus is the scrutiny of internal data and the drafting of analytical reports. You will spend much of your time reading through complex financial information, identifying trends, and verifying the assumptions made by client executives. Your day to day work involves: Reviewing data sets provided by the client to ensure accuracy and consistency. Drafting sections of formal memoranda that synthesize technical data into plain, direct English. Checking facts and citations to ensure every claim in our final report is supported by evidence. Assisting principals in the revision process, focusing on the clarity and logic of the written argument. Conducting independent research to provide context for the financial patterns you observe in client reports. Maintaining a high level of discretion regarding sensitive board level information. What You Bring We are looking for a clear thinker who is comfortable with financial data but values the precision of the written word above all else. Because this is an entry level role, we prioritize intellectual maturity and the ability to learn our specific method of analysis over years of professional experience. You should possess: A degree in finance, economics, data analysis, or a related field where structured thinking is required. The ability to explain complex numerical concepts without resorting to corporate jargon or filler words. High proficiency in spreadsheet software and data management tools. A high level of literacy and a preference for long form reading and writing. The discipline to work independently in a remote environment without constant supervision. A sharp eye for inconsistencies in logic or data reporting. The professional maturity to handle high stakes information with absolute confidentiality.
