JHC Consulting operates as an independent advisory firm for leaders who value written clarity over verbal presentation. We are currently supporting a Moroccan financial services provider on a project concerning market positioning and internal governance. The Associate Data Analyst role exists to provide the empirical grounding for these discussions. You will be responsible for examining data sets to verify if the internal assumptions of the client hold up under close scrutiny. Because we are a fully remote firm, you will manage your own schedule while focusing on the production of clear, evidence-based documents.
The Role
In this role, your work centers on the transition from raw data to a finished memorandum. You will spend a significant portion of your week cleaning and analyzing financial data provided by our Moroccan partner. This involves looking for patterns in customer behavior, credit risks, or market trends that others might overlook. You will not build dashboards or slide decks. Instead, you will write. You will take your findings and draft concise sections of reports that explain the logic behind the numbers. You will work under the direction of a principal to ensure that every claim we make is supported by a specific data point or a clear assumption. Your day-to-day involves rigorous reading of internal reports and comparing them against the raw datasets to find discrepancies.
What You Bring
We are looking for an individual with a strong foundation in quantitative analysis and a genuine interest in the discipline of writing. As this is an entry level position, we do not expect years of professional history, but we do require a high degree of intellectual maturity. You should be comfortable using tools like Excel or basic SQL to organize and interpret information. More importantly, you must be able to describe your findings in plain English. We value candidates who enjoy finding the logical gap in an argument and have the patience to double check their own work before sharing it. A background in finance, economics, or a related field of study is helpful, but your ability to think critically and write clearly is the primary requirement for this role.
How We Work
At JHC Consulting, we believe that writing is the only way to truly think through a complex problem. We do not participate in long meetings or rely on visual aids to hide weak logic. Every piece of work we deliver is a signed memorandum. This means that as you progress, your name will be attached to the analysis you produce. This model creates a high level of individual accountability and requires a commitment to the truth. You will have the space to follow a line of inquiry to its conclusion, provided you can document your steps and defend your results in writing. We value the courage to name uncomfortable truths when the data suggests the current strategy is flawed.
Working at JHC Consulting
This is a full time, permanent position that is entirely remote. You will have the freedom to structure your work day in a way that allows for deep concentration, which is necessary for the level of analysis we perform. While we are a remote organization, we maintain a culture of high standards and intellectual rigor. The position is paid and the compensation is competitive for the entry level market. We provide the autonomy needed to do good work, and in return, we expect a high degree of self discipline. We do not monitor your hours, but we do scrutinize the quality of the final document. The focus is always on the quality of the thought and the clarity of the prose.
Every engagement at JHC Consulting ends with a written record that stays on file with the client for years. We take this responsibility seriously. Our goal is to provide a dissenting read of internal cases, ensuring that boards and executives have a full picture of the risks and opportunities before them. By joining us, you will learn how to provide counsel that is both honest and rigorous, contributing to a body of work that values the written word over the convenient narrative. The work requires a quiet mind and a sharp pen.
