Role description The Peacekeeper role is a volunteer, remote position dedicated to supporting the council’s mission of promoting peace and justice through dialogue and cooperation. The Peacekeeper participates in online meetings, forums, and working groups to contribute to discussions on geopolitical challenges, conflict resolution, and peacebuilding strategies. The role involves preparing briefings and summaries, conducting background research on regional and global issues, and helping design frameworks for constructive dialogue among stakeholders. Peacekeepers also assist in writing communications, reports, and recommendations that reflect balanced, inclusive perspectives and collaborate with partners and community representatives to support peace initiatives. This role requires consistent online engagement, reliable communication, and a strong commitment to nonviolent solutions and ethical practice. Main qualifications
- Demonstrated understanding of peace studies, international relations, conflict resolution, or related fields, supported by formal education or equivalent experience.
- Strong analytical and research abilities, including the capacity to synthesize complex geopolitical information into clear, accessible insights.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to facilitate constructive dialogue in multicultural and multilingual environments.
- Proven collaboration and teamwork skills, including experience working in diverse, international, or cross-sector settings.
- High level of integrity, cultural sensitivity, and commitment to non-discrimination, human rights, and the principles of justice.
- Comfort with remote work, digital collaboration tools, and independent time management across different time zones.
- Prior involvement in peacebuilding, community mediation, diplomacy, advocacy, or humanitarian initiatives is highly beneficial.
- Ability to remain impartial, calm, and solutions-focused when engaging with sensitive or contentious topics.
