Location:
Casablanca, Morocco Work model: Full time, onsite (not remote or hybrid) Contract: Permanent contract (CDI) ABOUT ZENITHBLOX ZenithBlox develops infrastructure that enables regulated institutions to apply approved policies before digital transactions are executed. Our engineering team in Casablanca builds and operates components spanning workflow design, policy evaluation, orchestration, enterprise integration and blockchain connectivity. ROLE PURPOSE The Systems and Infrastructure Administrator will own the availability, capacity, security, recoverability and lifecycle of ZenithBlox's local technical environment in Casablanca. The role combines hands-on responsibility for physical infrastructure with Linux systems, virtualization, storage, networking, backup and operational documentation. This is an infrastructure operations position. DevOps and Kubernetes experience are useful, but they do not replace demonstrated experience operating physical servers, storage and networks onsite. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operate and maintain physical servers, racks, cabling, remote management interfaces, firmware, storage devices, network equipment, power and UPS protection, cooling and the technical room environment.
- Administer Linux hosts, virtual machines and KVM-based virtualization platforms, including Proxmox VE; assess the existing virtualization environment and recommend safe, reversible changes.
- Manage storage architecture and capacity, including RAID, ZFS or LVM, disk health, performance, retention and expansion planning.
- Manage local networking, including switching, VLANs, routing, firewalls, VPN access, DNS, DHCP, TLS certificates and reverse-proxy dependencies.
- Establish monitoring and alerting for hardware, operating systems, storage, network services, virtual machines and backup jobs.
- Design and operate encrypted backup and recovery procedures, define practical recovery targets and conduct documented restoration tests.
- Plan infrastructure changes with complete inventories, tested backups, rollback procedures, named owners, maintenance windows and acceptance criteria.
- Apply security hardening, patching, least-privilege access, asset controls, audit logging and periodic access reviews in coordination with the security team.
- Maintain current diagrams, inventories, configurations, runbooks, maintenance records and incident reports so that another qualified operator can recover the environment.
- Support the infrastructure hosting internal engineering services — source control, artifact repository, continuous integration, secrets management, GPU workloads and reverse proxies — while coordinating application ownership with the DevOps and engineering teams.
- Coordinate local infrastructure with cloud-hosted environments and help evaluate workload placement, capacity and operating cost without weakening reliability or recovery.
- Manage relationships with equipment, warranty, connectivity and specialist service providers, and participate in planned maintenance and documented incident coverage when required. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- At least four years of hands-on experience administering on-premises systems and infrastructure in a business or production environment; cloud-only experience is insufficient.
- Demonstrated responsibility for physical servers, Linux administration, virtualization, storage and network operations.
- Practical experience with Proxmox VE or another KVM-based virtualization platform, including VM lifecycle, resource allocation, backup and recovery.
- Strong knowledge of RAID, ZFS or LVM, filesystem and disk troubleshooting, capacity planning and hardware health monitoring.
- Working knowledge of switching, VLANs, routing, firewalls, VPNs, DNS, DHCP, TLS and secure remote administration.
- Evidence of having restored critical systems from backup and tested the recovered services, not only configured backup jobs.
- Ability to diagnose incidents methodically, communicate impact and recovery estimates, and document corrective actions.
- Ability to write clear technical documentation and maintain accurate inventories and operational runbooks.
- Professional working proficiency in French and English.
- Current residence in Casablanca, or relocation completed before the start date, with full-time onsite working from day one. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with Harvester, Rancher, Kubernetes or Longhorn.
- Experience supporting GitLab, Jenkins, Nexus Repository, HashiCorp Vault or comparable engineering services.
- Experience with Azure and hybrid cloud workload placement or cost optimization.
- Experience with Ansible, Terraform or other infrastructure automation tools.
- Experience with GPU passthrough, IOMMU and Linux driver management.
- Exposure to ISO 27001, SOC 2 or another formal security and control framework.
- Relevant Linux, networking, virtualization, cloud or security certifications. ONSITE REQUIREMENT This role requires full-time physical presence in Casablanca because regular access to the technical room and equipment is an essential function. Candidates must already live in Casablanca or complete their relocation before their start date; the employment contract records the postholder's address in Casablanca and full-time onsite working as conditions of the role. The position is not available on a remote or hybrid basis. SELECTION PROCESS Shortlisted candidates will complete a practical assessment covering infrastructure review, backup and recovery, incident response and a reversible virtualization migration scenario. The assessment will test judgment and execution planning rather than memorized definitions. Candidates invited to the assessment stage will be asked to sign a confidentiality undertaking beforehand.

HOW TO APPLY
Submit your CV together with brief answers to the following questions: 1. Are you currently based in Casablanca? If not, when could you relocate and begin working onsite full time? 2. Describe the largest physical Linux environment you have personally administered, including the number of servers, virtualization platform, storage, network scope and critical services. 3. Describe one system you restored from backup. What failed, what did you restore, how did you verify the service and how long did recovery take? 4. What hands-on experience do you have with Proxmox VE, KVM or Harvester? 5. Describe one virtualization migration or major infrastructure change you planned. How did you validate backups, testing and rollback? 6. Describe one hardware, storage-capacity or network incident you personally diagnosed and resolved. 7. Give one example of how you improved workload placement, infrastructure capacity or cloud cost without weakening reliability. 8. What is your current or expected net monthly salary, and what is your earliest possible start date? ZenithBlox will evaluate candidates on demonstrated technical capability, operational judgment, documentation quality and ability to perform the onsite responsibilities of the role.
