Tangier, Morocco | APM Terminals Shape the financial future of a strategic gateway between Europe and Africa. APM Terminals is looking for an experienced Head of Finance – West Med to lead the Finance function across our strategically important West Mediterranean portfolio, covering APM Terminals Algeciras, APM Terminals Tangier and APM Terminals MedPort Tangier (TM2) . This is much more than a traditional finance leadership role. You will be a key business partner to the senior leadership team , helping shape strategy, drive performance, guide investment decisions and strengthen governance across a complex, multi-terminal operation. Based in Tangier, Morocco , you will operate at the intersection of finance, commercial performance and terminal operations , with the opportunity to influence the long-term growth and value creation of one of APM Terminals’ important regional portfolios. What will you be responsible for?
- Lead the West Med Finance agenda , providing strategic and commercial financial leadership across the portfolio.
- Partner closely with the Managing Directors and senior leadership teams to drive profitability, performance and sustainable business growth.
- Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, performance management and business reviews across the terminals.
- Provide financial leadership on CAPEX, major investments, business cases and strategic initiatives , ensuring disciplined capital allocation and value creation.
- Ensure strong financial governance, controls, compliance, risk management and statutory reporting across the portfolio.
- Drive continuous improvement, standardisation and Lean ways of working , simplifying processes and improving the effectiveness of Finance.
- Support commercial and operational decision-making by translating financial data into clear, actionable business insights .
- Lead and develop a high-performing Finance organisation, building strong capabilities and succession for the future.
- Work closely with regional and global Finance teams, as well as key stakeholders across APM Terminals and Maersk.
- Provide oversight of the statutory governance of the Tangier Business Centre (TBC) , including financial sign-off responsibilities. What are we looking for? We are looking for a senior finance leader who combines strategic thinking with strong operational judgement . You will ideally bring:
- Significant experience in a CFO, Head of Finance or equivalent senior finance leadership role .
- Experience in ports, terminals, logistics, infrastructure, shipping or another asset-intensive environment .
- Strong commercial acumen and demonstrated ability to partner with MDs, CEOs, Executive Leadership Teams and Boards .
- Strong understanding of P&L management, financial planning, investment, governance, risk and controls .
- Experience leading finance teams in complex, multinational or multi-country environments .
- A hands-on leadership style — someone who can operate at the strategic level but is equally comfortable rolling up their sleeves and getting into the detail when required .
- Strong transformation and continuous improvement mindset, with an appetite for Lean and data-driven performance management .
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence across cultures and organisational boundaries.
