Noor Midelt Solar Hybrid 1 Company is the Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) established to develop, construct, own and operate the Noor Midelt Solar Hybrid 1 Project. The company is led by a consortium comprising EDF Power Solutions and Masdar and is responsible for delivering a 633 MWp Solar PV power plant integrated with a 1,324 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) in Midelt, Kingdom of Morocco.
Job purpose
To be responsible for managing the technical aspects during mainly the execution, project
completion and handover of utility scale solar PV power plants in addition to supporting
during the earlier stages of project development.
As part of an integrated project team, to prepare and agree on project specifications with
contractors, PMC/owner’s engineer, clients or other stakeholders, and to define basic
design, and create or review test procedures for solar power plant component.
To manage and coordinate the PMC in the design review of detailed engineering and
ensure a common company Clean Energy approach in requirements related to engineering
across projects.
❖ Construction and commissioning supervision of large scale renewable plants
o Manage all technical aspects of the projects within the delivery team, making
sure the proper technical resources are in place and that the project is
constructed and commissioned as per the contractual requirements in terms of
scope, quality and timing.
o Coordinate and manage the review and approvals of engineering deliverables as
per the project requirement
o Coordinate the technical part of the interface with other engineers (EPC, OE and
company Clean Energy, ie. HV, Civils …) for agreed requirements and ensure
they are implemented in the project
o Support in field engineering supervision regarding PV aspects and managing
owner's engineer
o Oversighting project execution activities including but not limited to
engineering planning, owner technical specifications (OTS), design review,
stage inspection, monitoring and tracking progress, etc.
o Conducting factory inspection and audit
o Identification of technical risk involvement during execution and possible
mitigation plant
o Recommend technology or infrastructure changes to improve project
performance, reduce operational costs, or comply with regulations.
❖ Technical lead from an engineering perspective, ensure maximum value creation
o Monitor renewable power projects from technical and techno-economic aspects,
ensuring maximum value creation, measured through levels of innovation,
adoption, and successful deployment of technology in projects
❖ Ensure knowledge management practices are in place to enhance team learning
and development
o Establish knowledge management practices to ensure that the company has
access to accurate information and knowledge repository, providing engineering
advice to company senior management.
o Ensure implementation of technical knowledge transfer and lessons learned
from other projects (under development and operational assets) into the new
ones
o Enhance the execution policies and procedure for next projects.
❖ Manage stakeholder relations relevant to engineering
o Participate in contract negations (e.g. EPC, O&M, PPA) regarding technical and
techo-economic aspects in order to ensure that supplied services are to the
required standards requested for projects.
o Engagement and coordination with various stakeholders including OE, LTA, IE,
local authorities, off-taker etc in order to clarify any technical matters
o As and when required, personally manage key relationships/negotiations with
relevant internal and external stakeholders in order to ensure the negotiation and
agreement of favourable deals and agreements that safeguard company’s best
interests while ensuring the delivery of necessary needs/goals.
❖ HQ management reporting
o Ensure that all technical project reports are completed in a comprehensive,
accurate and timely manner, and comply with international principles of
corporate governance and standards, and shareholder requirements.
o Present regular and ad-hoc project progress reports as and when required by the
senior management.
