Global Mission :

As part of prototype and pre-series activities, the holder is responsible for delivering physical resources while respecting the QCDP (quality, cost, deadline, and performance) requirements of a vehicle program until the transfer of parts to series logistics. They ensure operational management of other physical resource managers within a program scope (multi-vehicle silhouettes or organ family).


Activities :

  • Contribute to the framing and convergence of the prototype budget by constructing expenses and the annual flow of project-specific physical resource needs.
  • Guarantee the costing of prototype and pre-series phases and the annual economic management of the prototype budget by monitoring budget commitments, actual and forecast billing.
  • Define Client dates to ensure the realization of physical resources within the project's required schedule (interface with design professions).
  • Manage the planning of physical resources by ensuring the adequacy between client needs and the manufacturing capacities of prototype workshops/pilot workshops (including budget management to achieve this) or series production line.
  • Manage the creation of resource descriptions and manufacturing nomenclatures for mechanical factories, ensuring the availability of the manufacturing nomenclature at the required quality level and exhaustive for vehicles by the vehicle manufacturing nomenclature manager.
  • Ensure consideration of any request for changes concerning physical resources.
  • Guarantee and manage supplies, logistics, and scheduling until transfers to factories.
  • Ensure the transfer of parts supply to series by coordinating all contributors (Purchasing, Supply chain, manufacturing, quality, series logistics).
  • Ensure the availability of physical resources to clients by coordinating the necessary preparation and realization activities.
  • Report activity to the project manager and hierarchy - identify and address risks within their scope.
  • Conduct feedback and improve professional benchmarks.


Responsabilities :

  • Economic: Manage the prototype budget by delegation from the Project Planning Manager / Project Cost Manager (budget management, optimization of project expenses/needs, contribution to BU balance), contribution to the agreed price (Added Value logistics and parts purchase by alerting on IOD / proto sourcing), and resource budget. The prototype budget framing is under the responsibility of the planning manager.
  • Deadlines: Deliverables availability under their responsibility is essential to respect the different stages of the SOD (planning, description, and realization of prototype resources, study and manufacturing nomenclatures, supplies).
  • Quality: The rigor of supplies is essential for quality convergence across all project phases.
  • Performance: The conformity of prototype resources and the availability of professional needs are essential for the physical PIV process. Manage configuration between proto parts and IOD parts. Detect and ensure consideration of product/process innovations to guarantee the adaptation of installations, operating modes, and information systems, including safety (any delay can lead to project development delay or safety risk).
