Assistant Research position in membrane-based desalination technologies

Join a multidisciplinary research team to lower energy consumption and increase water recovery of integrated desalination technologies.


The successful candidate will embark on a promising research career with proven competence in desalination and water treatment engineering, and industrial applications.


The centre has been created to address enduring process challenges in Chemistry and Engineering disciplines and create an environment for interdisciplinary research.



  • Research focuses on catalysis, separation, energy generation, conversion and storage, and organic optoelectronics intelligent and advanced polymers and materials.
  • Faculty members from backgrounds in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, and Environmental Engineering.

The project aims to lower energy consumption and increase the water recovery of integrated desalination technologies through laboratory experimentations, life cycle assessment, and techno-economic study.



  • Required qualifications:

    • MSc in Engineering (including Environmental, Civil or Chemical Engineering), Material Science or any other relevant background.
    • Experience working in a laboratory research environment.
    • Willingness to work within a multidisciplinary group.
    • Proven hands-on experiments in membrane filtration processes.
    • Research experience on membrane filtration, water quality analysis, and membrane characterization.
    • Demonstrated skills in scientific writing.
    • Innovative, driven, out-of-the-box thinker, self-motivated to investigate and implement new ideas.
    • Good communication and presentation skills in English.
    • French is an advantage.
