Travel Surgical Technologist Job Description

\

We are seeking a skilled Travel Surgical Technologist to join our team for a 13-week assignment. This opportunity will provide you with the chance to work in a dynamic Operating Room environment, utilizing your expertise in surgical technology to deliver exceptional patient care.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical assistance to surgeons and other medical staff during surgical procedures\
  • Maintain a safe and efficient operating room environment\
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient care\
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest surgical techniques and technologies\
  • Demonstrate strong communication and teamwork skills\
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance professional development\
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to surgical technology\
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards\
  • Document and maintain accurate records of patient information and surgical procedures\
  • Assist with inventory management and ordering supplies as needed\
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management or clinical supervisors\
  • Requirements:\
    • \
    • Bachelor's degree in Surgical Technology or related field\
    • Current certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA)\
    • 1-3 years recent experience working in an Operating Room setting\
    • Strong knowledge of surgical instrumentation and equipment\
    • Ability to lift 50 pounds and stand for long periods\
    • Excellent hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills\
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills\
    • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment\
    • Continuous learning and professional development commitment\
    • Compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards\
    • Affiliation with a professional organization such as the Association of Surgical Technologists (AST)\
    • Provision of COVID-19 series and booster documentation\
    • Preferred Qualifications:\
      • \
      • Experience working in a teaching hospital\
      • Additionalspecialty experience (e.g., robotics, ENT, plastics, oncology)\
      • HCHS certification\
      • Prior experience with particular surgical instruments or equipment\
      • Familiarity with electronic health records systems\
      • Skill in providing patient education and support\
      • Comfort with continuous evaluation and improvement of processes\
      • Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail\
      • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software\
      • Efficient problem-solving and critical thinking skills\
      • Reliable and punctual attendance\\
