Senior Director

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Senior Director to join our team in Rabat, Morocco. The successful candidate will be responsible for formulating and implementing the substantive work programme of the Sub Regional Office for Northern Africa (SRO-NA).

1. Develop and implement the SRO-NA's work programme, ensuring timely completion of activities and effective coordination with Headquarters and other organizations.
2. Provide intellectual, technical, and managerial vision and leadership for the SRO-NA, guiding the team in achieving strategic objectives.
3. Serve as principal technical and substantive adviser to the Executive Secretary on matters related to regional integration, AfCFTA, and cooperation in the Northern Africa subregion.
4. Assess economic and social development needs, formulate policy options, and design programme initiatives to drive structural transformation and balanced development.
5. Lead the preparation of reports for presentation to intergovernmental bodies, ensuring high-quality standards and comprehensive data.

• An advanced university degree in economics, social sciences, or a related field is required. A PhD in economics is an advantage.
• A minimum of fifteen years of progressively responsible experience in economic research, management, and analysis of socio-economic development issues is required.
• Experience in leading a team of specialists, managing development programmes, and facilitating intergovernmental processes is desirable.
• Regional experience in integration and social and economic structural transformation in developing countries is desirable.
