About the Role

We are seeking a versatile Data Analytics Engineer to serve as the critical bridge between data engineering and business analysis for the Dupont REGISTRY's Customer Data Platform (CDP). This role is responsible for the design, maintenance, and optimization of our core data warehouse while simultaneously empowering business stakeholders by creating high-impact analytical views and dashboards. You will be the primary owner of our Google BigQuery data environment, leveraging an ELT approach and Medallion Architecture.

Key ResponsibilitiesData Engineering & Architecture

  • CDP Foundation: Design, build, and optimize robust data pipelines, primarily managing the Extract and Load phases to ingest raw data into the Bronze layer of BigQuery.
  • Transformation Logic: Own the Transformation phase of the ELT process, developing and managing all complex data cleaning, conforming, and aggregation logic using dbt (Data Build Tool) or BigQuery Scheduled Queries.
  • Silver Layer Development: Implement data cleaning, deduplication, standardization, and joining/conforming logic to create the "single source of truth" Silver layer, structuring data into Dimension (dim_{entity}) and Fact (fct_{process}) tables.
  • Gold Layer Creation: Build the final, user-facing Gold layer, consisting of denormalized, aggregated views (e.g., customer_360_view) designed to answer specific business questions and serve BI tools and reports.

Data Analysis & BI Enablement

  • Business Intelligence (BI) Support: Act as the primary technical partner for BI, responsible for querying and structuring the Gold layer data for dashboard consumption.
  • Looker Dashboard Maintenance: Create, maintain, and update Looker dashboards and reports, ensuring they accurately reflect the underlying business logic defined in the Gold tables.
  • Advanced SQL Querying: Write, optimize, and document complex SQL queries in BigQuery to support ad-hoc business requests, deep-dive analyses, and data investigations.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with marketing and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into well-structured, production-ready Gold layer views.

Data Quality & Governance

  • Quality Assurance: Implement data quality tests at each layer (Bronze, Silver, Gold), utilizing dbt tests to ensure data integrity, such as checking for unique and non-null primary keys.
  • Governance: Adhere to the defined project structure (DRG DATA LAKE project ), naming conventions , and principles (e.g., Bronze data is immutable and append-only ).
  • Access Control: Understand and support access control policies using IAM, granting most business users read-only access to the Gold layer.

Technical Qualifications

  • Expertise in SQL and BigQuery: Deep, hands-on experience with advanced SQL and optimizing queries, particularly within Google BigQuery.
  • Data Transformation Tools: Proven experience building complex transformation models using dbt (Data Build Tool).
  • BI Tool Experience: Direct experience with Looker (or similar modern BI tools) for data modeling, dashboard development, and maintenance.
  • Cloud Platform: Strong working knowledge of the Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including BigQuery and IAM.
  • Data Modeling: Solid understanding of Dimensional Modeling and experience structuring data into Dimension and Fact tables.
