Procurement and Travel Assistant with UNDP

UNDP, the UN's lead agency for international development, operates in 170 countries to eradicate poverty, reduce inequalities, and help nations build resilience and achieve the Sustainable Development Goals. Its work focuses on sustainable development, democratic governance, peacebuilding, and climate and disaster resilience. In Morocco, UNDP seeks to strengthen operational efficiency across projects and UN agencies. Within this framework, UNDP Morocco is recruiting a national UN Volunteer to support procurement and travel functions. Under the supervision of the Head of the General Services Unit and overall guidance of the Operations Manager, the UNV Procurement and Travel Assistant will provide administrative, procurement, and travel-related services, working closely with Programme, Operations, and Project teams, as well as with other UN agencies.
Description of duties
Support the implementation of operational strategies in compliance with UNDP rules, contributing to administrative process improvements and the preparation of results‑oriented work plans.
Provide procurement and logistical support: prepare purchase orders, assist with RFQs/ITBs/RFPs, organize events, maintain filing systems, extract data for sourcing strategies, coordinate with bidders, prepare evaluation summaries, draft contracts, follow up on deadlines, and support audit processes.
Assist in travel management: process travel POs, coordinate with travel agents, advise staff on entitlements, ensure security clearances, process travel authorizations and claims, support visa and residency procedures, arrange airport pick‑ups, prepare routine correspondence, reconcile financial settlements, and support cost‑recovery processes.
Contribute to knowledge‑building by participating in trainings and sharing good practices within operations teams.
Profile requirements
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in administration, procurement, or travel services.
Strong computer skills (MS Word, Excel) and experience with web‑based management systems.
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, Economics, or related fields (CIPS certification is a strong asset).
Fluency in French and Arabic; working knowledge of English.
United Nations Specialist Volunteers receive the following package:
1. Pre-assignment Installation lump sum: USD 400 Relocation costs: USD 200 at the beginning and end of the assignment if the duty station is outside of commuting distance (as determined by UNV)
2. During assignment Monthly Volunteer Living Allowance (VLA): MAD 13,179.16 Learning & Development: Access to the UNV E-Campus platform, including LinkedIn Learning and other career development resources Annual leave: 2.5 working days per month Insurance: Comprehensive coverage for health, life, and malicious acts for the UN Volunteer, as well as health insurance coverage for up to 3 eligible dependents. Please refer to the Conditions of Service for more details on eligibility criteria.
3. End of assignment: End-of-assignment allowance (paid upon satisfactory completion of the assignment): MAD 1,098.26 per month of service, paid at the end of the contract.
