Job Summary

This technician will support biomass harvesting, post-treatment and formulation of fish feed prototypes using microalgal ingredients. The role includes assistance in downstream processing, formulation tests, equipment operation and preparation of samples for feed trials.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in harvesting of microalgal biomass (filtration, centrifugation, drying).
• Assist in development and execution of feed formulation protocols.
• Operate lab-scale feed production equipment (grinders, mixers, extruders).
• Weigh and mix ingredients according to experimental feed recipes.
• Conduct moisture content and composition tests on feed batches.
• Package and label feed samples for storage or field testing.
• Maintain cleanliness and compliance with hygiene standards in production areas.
• Track consumables, ingredients, and feed inventory.
• Document procedures, test results, and feed performance observations.

Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum: Technician/Bachelor's degree (BAC 2/3) in food technology, animal science, biotechnology, or related fields.
• Knowledge of feed formulation or aquaculture nutrition is highly desirable.
• Practical skills in handling lab or small-scale industrial processing equipment.
• Basic understanding of physico-chemical analysis (moisture, ash, protein).
• Ability to accurately follow SOPs and safety standards.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
