Position Title: Research Intern – Eye Health, Primary Eye Care, and Epidemiology

Location: Remote / Flexible

Duration: Minimum 3-6 months (with potential for long-term collaboration)

About the Role:

We are seeking a motivated optometrist or optometry graduate to join our eye research team as a research intern. This position offers a unique opportunity to engage in interdisciplinary projects at the intersection of primary eye care, health economics, and epidemiology. The role is ideal for clinicians interested in developing a long-term research collaboration and contributing to evidence-based strategies that improve population eye health and access to care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to ongoing studies in primary eye care delivery, economic evaluation of eye health interventions, and population-based epidemiological analysis.
  • Assist in data collection, literature review, and manuscript preparation.
  • Participate in research design discussions, data interpretation, and dissemination of findings.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of researchers and clinicians.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Optometry (current student or graduate).
  • Demonstrated interest in public health, health economics, or epidemiology.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and writing skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a research-focused environment.
