About the Chemical & Biochemical Sciences Green Process Engineering (CBS)

The Chemical & Biochemical Sciences Green Process Engineering Department (CBS) is a component of the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P). The main objective of CBS is to set up a distinctive research-teaching program, of international level, to meet the research and teaching challenges of UM6P, on green and environmental chemistry applied to all aspects of chemical sciences: organic and inorganic chemistry, analytical chemistry, chemical biology, biochemical and thermal reactions.

Job description:

We are looking for a motivated and skilled Research Assistant to join our scientific team. The ideal candidate will master a range of advanced analytical techniques essential to the characterization and in-depth study of chemical materials and compounds. You will be involved in the planning, execution and interpretation of analytical tests, contributing to innovative research projects.
Main tasks :
- Carry out thermal analyses (ATG, ATD, DSC) to study material properties and thermal stability.
- Perform chromatographic analyses (HPLC, LCMS TQ, GCMS TQ) to separate and identify chemical compounds.
- Perform specific surface area and porosity measurements using the BET method.
- Use spectroscopic techniques (UV-visible, FTIR) to characterize materials and their chemical interactions.
- Measure zeta potential to study surface properties and colloid stability.
- Interpret experimental results and write clear, detailed technical reports.
- Collaborate with researchers to optimize experimental protocols and suggest improvements.
- Participate in the maintenance and smooth running of analytical equipment.
Profile required:
- Bac+3 in Chemistry, Materials, Analytical Sciences or related field.
- Proven experience in the use of the above analytical techniques.
- Strong data interpretation and analytical problem-solving skills.
- Methodical mindset, scientific rigor and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a multidisciplinary research environment.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with fluency in French and English.

Additional assets :
- Experience in analytical method development.
- Knowledge of laboratory regulations and standards.
- Familiarity with data analysis software associated with the techniques mentioned.
