Exploring the role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and dynamic Sales Development Representative (SDR) to join our team in Africa. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in B2B sales, lead generation, and client acquisition. They will be responsible for identifying and pursuing sales opportunities, building and nurturing client relationships, and supporting the sales pipeline through effective outreach and engagement. The role requires fluency in English and French, along with a strong understanding of the local market and the ability to collaborate across diverse teams and geographies.

How your day will look like:

  • Identify, research, and target potential clients in the hospitality and travel industry.
  • Engage with a pre-qualified database of prospects provided by the company, focusing on initiating meaningful conversations and converting them into opportunities.
  • Leverage multiple channels such as emails, calls, and social media to nurture prospects and create interest in RateGain's offerings.
  • Build, manage, and prioritize a robust pipeline of opportunities by maintaining consistent follow-ups and driving prospects through the sales funnel.
  • Conduct thorough research to identify key decision-makers within target accounts and initiate contact Initiate and build relationships with potential customers through calls, emails, and social media platforms.
  • Conduct detailed research on target accounts to understand their business needs, industry trends, and challenges, enabling the creation of personalized and compelling messaging to enhance prospect engagement.
  • Maintain accurate records of all prospect interactions and prepare regular reports on account status, lead generation, and conversion metrics using tools such as Salesforce, HubSpot, or equivalent CRM software.
  • Work closely with the sales and marketing teams to align on the strategies, campaigns, and goals.
  • Prepare regular reports on account status, collection activities, and progress toward targets.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, company products, and competitors to effectively position solutions to clients.

Education & Work Experience:

  • 2 – 6 years of experience working as a Sales development representative in Africa.
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Sales, business administration, or a related field.

Knowledge:

  • Proficiency in MS Office and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP).
  • Experience preparing regular reports on account status, and progress toward targets.
  • Familiarity with LinkedIn Sales Navigator, DiscoverOrg, ZoomInfo, Salesforce, or HubSpot.
  • Knowledge of B2B lead gen processes, pipeline management, outbound sales engine etc.

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of social media platforms and their role in hospitality marketing
  • Clear, concise, and effective written and oral communication skills in English and French.
  • Strong active listening skills to understand client needs and provide tailored solutions.
  • Ability to ask the right questions, comprehend client feedback, and probe effectively.
  • Very strong analytical and research skills to identify and capitalize on sales opportunities.
  • Open to learning, unlearning, and relearning to stay relevant in a dynamic market.
  • Empathy towards customers, with the ability to understand their needs and pain points.
