Your mission

BIGGER Écoles (BE): Changing Attitudes and Norms to Prevent Underage Marriage in Marrakech-Safi

is an initiative by Project Soar, in partnership with the Fédération Nationale des Associations des Parents d'Elèves du Maroc (FNAPEM), funded by the European Commission. This project aims to empower FNAPEM's civil society organizations (CSOs) attached to schools in Morocco to promote and protect human rights while addressing gender-based violence. Through targeted advocacy efforts, BE will champion girls' rights and combat underage marriage by strengthening FNAPEM's CSOs' presence in public schools. The initiative includes a comprehensive capacity-building program focused on adolescent girls' issues, featuring specialized training components to ensure the long-term sustainability of efforts to advance girls' rights.

• Key Responsibilities:

Training & Capacity Building

• Participate in a Training of Trainers (TOT) program led by Project Soar consultant and staff and achieve certification as BE Mentors.
• Use the BE advocacy toolkit to conduct all the activities.
• Strengthen the capacities of fellow mentors in facilitation, leadership, and advocacy skills.
• Deliver cascade trainings to representatives of FNAPEM CSOs through multi-day workshops.
• Support the orientation of school administrators in collaboration with AREF and FNAPEM across the region.

Schools & CSOs Engagement

• Strengthen coalitions of CSOs to amplify grassroots advocacy against child marriage and GBV.
• Organize and facilitate school dialogues on GBV and underage marriage in middle and high schools reaching students, teachers, and school administrators.
• Promote collaboration between schools, CSOs, and local communities to advance girls' rights.
• Engage teachers, administrators, students, in advocacy discussions.
• Support school administrators and school staff in implementing the BE initiative and school dialogues.
• Work closely with FNAPEM and FNAPEM CSOs and support them.

Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting

• Support the project's scale-up by engaging and guiding school staff to ensure they can carry on the initiative after the project ends.
• Participate in lessons-learned sessions and provide insights and structured feedback on the project's implementation, adaptation, and evaluation, as well as on the toolbox.
• Document activities, including participant lists, data, pictures, and outcomes from dialogues, events, and trainings.
• Facilitate capacity surveys by school administrators and CSOs at the beginning and end of the project.
• Report regularly to Project Soar staff on progress, challenges, and achievements.
• Develop a mentoring plan with goals and action steps
• Support communication and documentation needs for internal reporting and donor requirements.

Administrative & Logistical Support

• Ensure proper use and safekeeping of program materials and toolkits
• Coordinate logistical needs for dialogues, trainings, and events, including venues, materials, and scheduling.

Your profile

• Qualifications
• Relevant professional and/or educational experience in social sciences, education, gender studies, community development, or a related field.
• Proven experience in facilitation, training, or community engagement, preferably with youth.
• Knowledge of gender equality, GBV prevention, and child protection.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to manage group discussions and foster inclusive dialogue.
• Ability to work in mixed-gender teams, strong teamwork, and leadership skills.
• Familiarity with the educational sector and/or CSOs in Morocco is an asset.
• Fluency in Arabic (Darija), knowledge of French, English or Amazigh is an advantage.
• Flexibility to work evenings/weekends if needed.
• Report writing and documentation skills.
• Commitment to gender equality and human rights.

Duration and coverage

• Mentors will work in mixed-gender pairs and be assigned to groups of schools and CSOs within designated provinces/prefectures.
• Mentors must be ready to commit for the entire 3-year duration of the project.
• Only candidates currently based in the Marrakech–Safi region, preferably in Marrakech or Chichaoua, will be considered.
