We are seeking a dedicated and entrepreneurial HR Business Partner to build our HR department from the ground up. This is a unique opportunity to shape the HR function of a growing organization and grow into a leadership role. The successful candidate will be the sole HR professional at our Casablanca Head Office, working directly with the General Manager to establish HR policies, processes, and structure that align with our Japanese corporate values while meeting local market needs.
This role offers significant growth potential, with the opportunity to develop into an HR Manager position and eventually lead a team of HR specialists and trainees.
Implements Corporate Policy:
Ensures that company-wide policies are effectively applied at the business unit or division level, adapting them as necessary to meet local needs while maintaining alignment with overall corporate objectives.
Strategic HR Partnership:
Serve as the primary HR business partner to the General Manager and department managers.
Act as a first point of support for top management on all HR matters
Understand employee expectations and effectively communicate these to leadership.
Supports the consolidation and engagement of company members across organizations.
Department Building & Structure:
Establish the HR department from scratch, including policies, processes, and systems
Develop and implement recruitment structures and processes aligned with Japanese corporate standards
Create a professional work environment that supports employee satisfaction and productivity
Design and implement HR solutions including social actions and training programs to enhance employee engagement
Recruitment & Talent Management:
Manage end-to-end recruitment for the head office (approximately 18 employees) focused on freight forwarding activities
Provide managers with quality candidate profiles and hiring support
Oversee HR reporting to Senior Management
Coordinate with external legal advisors on contract templates and regulatory compliance
HR Operations & Administration:
Manage employee lifecycle processes including onboarding, contracts and offboarding
Handle absenteeism management and attendance matters
Coordinate employee certificates and documentation
Support health insurance topics and benefits administration
Coordinate with external payroll provider
Prepare ESG reports using the Workiva platform
Compliance & Policy Development:
Develop comprehensive HR policies and procedures
Ensure legal compliance with Moroccan labor laws and regulations
Work with legal advisors to create and maintain employment contract templates
Maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive company information
Profile
Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree or MBA in Human Resources or related field preferred.
Proven experience (5-8 years) in a strategic HRBP role, preferably within the logistics, manufacturing or transportation industry.
Proven experience in an HR generalist or business partner role
Strong understanding of Moroccan labour law and HR compliance requirements
Demonstrated ability to work independently and take initiative
Excellent organizational and project management skills
Strong interpersonal and communication skills in French, English and Arabic
Dedication to grow with the organization long-term
Experience building HR functions or processes from scratch
Familiarity with Japanese business culture and corporate processes
Experience with HR information systems and reporting platforms
