Benisouk is a premium Moroccan home decor brand, best known for rugs and expanding into a broader curated Moroccan lifestyle universe. We sell internationally, with a strong presence in the US.
We are at a stage where the product is strong, but the brand perception can be significantly elevated through a clearer identity, a stronger story, and a more premium design system across every touchpoint.
The Role
We are hiring a hands-on Brand & Design Lead to drive a brand upgrade (rebrand level) and build a consistent premium visual system. This person will own the brand look and feel and translate it into the website experience, creative assets, and customer-facing design.
What You Will Own
Brand strategy and rebrand direction
- Lead a brand audit: visual identity, messaging, website experience, and overall premium perception
- Define and refine the brand foundations: positioning, brand pillars, tone of voice, key proof points
- Translate strategy into a clear rebrand direction (what changes, why, and how it shows up visually)
Visual identity and design system
- Upgrade the visual identity: typography, color palette, layout principles, iconography, and brand elements
- Create a scalable brand design system that works across web, ads, email, social, packaging, and print
- Build brand guidelines that the whole team can follow (visual rules, do's and don'ts, examples)
Art direction and brand visuals
- Set the creative direction: moodboards, styling rules, lighting references, composition standards
- Define a consistent image signature (color consistency, cropping rules, texture details, premium cues)
- Create a repeatable product content structure (shot list requirements for each rug category)
- Curate and approve final visuals so everything looks cohesive and premium
Website brand experience
- Redesign and improve key templates: Homepage, Collection pages, Product pages (PDP)
- Improve visual hierarchy and layout to feel more premium (less clutter, stronger rhythm, better spacing)
- Work with the developer to implement changes through clear briefs, Figma files, and QA
Brand rollout and consistency
- Ensure consistency across paid creatives, email design, and social templates
- Create a system for ongoing brand quality control: reviews, checks, and approvals
- Prioritize: best sellers first, highest impact touchpoints first
What Success Looks Like
- A clear rebrand direction and brand foundations document
- A complete brand design system and brand guidelines
- Upgraded website templates with premium look and feel
- A consistent photo and visual signature applied to key products
- A repeatable process: briefs, production, reviews, QA, updates
Requirements
- 3 to 7+ years of experience in brand design, visual identity, or creative leadership for DTC/e-commerce brands
- Proven rebranding or brand upgrade experience (portfolio required)
- Strong taste and design judgment (you can spot what feels premium instantly)
- Strong English writing and brand messaging skills (mandatory)
- Ability to translate branding into real outputs: templates, layouts, guidelines, systems
- Comfortable with Shopify environments and working with developers
- Figma proficiency (required)
- Organized, process-driven, and detail-obsessed (brand quality is in the details)
Nice to Have
- Home decor, fashion, beauty, or premium consumer brand experience
- Understanding of US market premium DTC aesthetics
- Experience aligning web, email, and paid creatives under one brand system
