Functional Safety Engineer

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Define diagnostic strategies for various powertrain components and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

  • Select the appropriate OBD unit and specify communication protocols between ECUs.

  • Update OBD-manager requirements and align them with the Diagnostics and Reconfiguration Manager.

  • Analyze the impact of component failures on OBD and define recovery modes.

  • Plan and execute Pre-PVE OBD activities, monitor results, and implement corrective actions.

  • Prepare and review certification documentation for regulatory authorities.

  • Ensure all safety deliverables at the powertrain level are up to date: Safety Plan, Safety Impact, Safety Assessment, FMEA, TSC, Safety Case.

  • Support the Aftersales team to guarantee maintainability of powertrain components.

  • Coordinate project communication across all stakeholders.

YOUR PROFILE:

  • Engineering degree in Embedded Systems, Mechatronics, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in powertrain design, safety, diagnostics, or OBD.

  • Solid understanding of ICE and hybrid powertrain systems (PHEV/MHEV).

  • Good knowledge of power electronics (OBC), EE architecture, and automotive communication networks (CAN, LIN, etc.).

  • Strong expertise in OBD standards and compliance.

  • Familiarity with MATLAB Simulink (specification reading).

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
