AI/ML/Data Internship – Mining Exploration – Morocco (Start ASAP, 6 months)
Mirage Metrics builds AI infrastructure and custom automation systems for logistics, mining, and manufacturing. We operate across Morocco, Spain, and the US.
We are hiring an AI/ML/Data Intern for a 6-month full-time internship starting immediately. You will work on a focused exploration project in Morocco, building data pipelines and models that help us identify promising targets. You will work closely with the founders and engineering team.
What you'll do
- Ingest and clean multi-source geodata at scale
- Build geospatial features from satellite imagery and maps
- Train and evaluate ML models for prospectivity scoring and ranking
- Produce clear maps, notebooks, and short memos that explain results
- Help prepare field packs and data checks for on-site validation
- Ship small internal tools that speed up analysis and reporting
What we're looking for
- Strong Python, Git, and SQL
- Solid grasp of ML fundamentals and experimentation
- Comfortable with geospatial data and at least one of: GeoPandas, Rasterio, GDAL, QGIS
- Bonus: Google Earth Engine, PyTorch, XGBoost, basic geostatistics
- Comfortable with tools like Cursor, Replit, GPT, Claude, and AI agents
- You show initiative through side projects and you like hard problems
- Fluent in French and English. Arabic is a plus
- Based in Casablanca or able to relocate. Field trips inside Morocco are part of the role
