The IFC Rabat, Morocco office is seeking to recruit a Staff Driver. The driver will provide a full range of daily official transportation requirements including driving services to management and operations in the country office. The role will also include office support work, dropping/collecting parcels to/from clients and vendors. This position reports to the Office Manager – Rabat.
Duties and Accountabilities
- Drive IFC personnel and visiting missions to meetings, field trips, and airport pick-up/drop-off.
- Collect and deliver official letters, invoices, and parcels as needed.
- Maintain office vehicles, including routine checks for tyre pressure, engine oil, brake fluid, radiator coolant, fuel level, and battery water level.
- Ensure vehicles are clean, including the engine compartment.
- Maintain daily vehicle logbook and ensure insurance, registration, and service schedules are up to date.
- Ensure vehicle keys are securely stored and interior fittings are in good condition.
- Ensure vehicles are equipped with spare tyres, tool kits, jacks, wheel spanners, tow ropes, jump leads, fan belts, fire extinguishers, and first aid toolboxes.
- Coordinate reporting steps in case of car accidents with the office administrator.
- Assist with delivery and collection of documents related to visas, licenses, and supplies.
- Act as a backup for WB driver when needed.
- Perform other administrative duties as assigned.
Selection Criteria
Note: Only applicants who are nationals, legal residents, or otherwise have legal presence in the duty station independent of any employer, and who are authorized to work in the duty station, will be considered.
- Minimum of secondary school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 5 years of professional driving experience, preferably with a multinational institution.
- Valid driver's license for 4x4 and minibuses.
- Defensive driving skills training is an advantage.
- Training in auto mechanics and first aid is an asset.
- Good driving record references.
- Good knowledge of Rabat and surrounding areas.
- Ability to work long hours and weekends.
- Proactive, takes ownership, mature, and flexible personality.
- Team player with good interpersonal skills and strong client focus.
- Good communication in French and Arabic
- Fluency in French and/or English is not mandatory but will be considered a material asset.
- Good computer skills (MS Office) are not mandatory but are preferred.
Candidates with language proficiency and good computer skills may benefit from enhanced career development opportunities within the organization.
