Job Description

The Geology and Sustainable Mining Institute (GSMI) at Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) is seeking applications for a 12-month Research Assistant position in the field of Geological Exploration and Geodata Analytics, with a particular focus on mineral resource assessment, spectral data integration, and predictive geological modeling in partnership with the OCP ecosystem.

The selected candidate will contribute to an OCP-funded research projects aimed at enhancing mineral exploration workflows through advanced geological and geospatial data analysis. The work will involve the integration of remote sensing, and geochemical data to support mineral exploration and geological mapping activities within phosphate-bearing and associated terrains.

Qualifications

• Bac 5, preferably a master's degree in geology, Exploration, geoinformatics, or related fields.
• Proven experience in GIS, Geochemical exploration, Mineralogical characterisation;
• Familiarity with tools such as QGIS/ArcGIS, ENVI, or for geodata processing.
• Ability to work with large datasets and perform spatial and statistical analyses.
• Strong collaborative mindset and critical thinking skills.
• Demonstrated proficiency in written and oral communication in both English and French.
