Country Finance Lead – Morocco

Location: Casablanca, Morocco

Work Arrangement: On-site, full-time

About the Organisation

A fast-growing international business with an expanding presence in Morocco is seeking a senior finance leader to strengthen operational and financial governance across its regional entities. This role is critical in driving financial integrity, operational excellence, and alignment with group-level standards and performance expectations.

Role Overview

The Country Finance Lead will be responsible for all finance functions across the organisation's Moroccan operations. This includes leadership of accounting, reporting, compliance, and systems integration, ensuring robust financial controls and high-quality reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead financial management activities including accounting, reporting, FP&A, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance
  • Oversee finance operations for multiple Moroccan entities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of reporting
  • Drive the implementation and integration of an ERP platform (Dynamics 365) across local business units
  • Full ownership of the balance sheet and internal control framework
  • Provide strategic financial insights to business and group leadership
  • Develop and enhance the local finance team through coaching and capability-building
  • Ensure compliance with Moroccan GAAP and alignment with international reporting standards
  • Act as the primary contact for external audits and local regulatory authorities
  • Partner with commercial and operational teams to improve cost control and performance delivery
  • Support business decision-making with clear commercial analysis and financial modelling

Key Priorities: First 6–12 Months

  • Strengthen the finance team structure, capability, and performance
  • Deliver a successful ERP migration and full systems integration
  • Establish consistent financial governance and internal control processes
  • Ensure timely and accurate statutory and management reporting
  • Build trusted partnerships with local and group finance leadership

Candidate Profile

Experience & Qualifications

  • Fully qualified accountant (CPA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent)
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive finance experience, including 5+ years in leadership roles
  • Strong track record in multinational or mid-to-large corporate environments
  • Background in a Big 4 audit firm is highly desirable
  • Strong knowledge of Moroccan GAAP, IFRS, and compliance processes
  • Experience managing audits, tax submissions, and statutory reporting
  • Strong ERP system expertise — experience with Dynamics 365 preferred

  • Fluent in English and French, with strong communication skills
  • Hands-on and detail-oriented, comfortable working at both strategic and operational levels

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
