What You'll Do

As a part of BCG X, you will work closely with consulting teams on a diverse range of advanced topics. You will have the opportunity to leverage software development methodologies to deliver value to our Consulting & BCG X (case) teams, BCG X Product teams and Practice Areas (domains) through providing design and user experience subject matter expertise, and accelerated execution support. You will collaborate with teams to gather requirements, specify, design, develop, deliver and support software solutions serving client needs. You will provide technical support through deeper understanding of relevant software solutions and processes to build high quality and efficient technology solutions. Assignments will range from short term Proof of concepts/Minimum viable products to long term cases with enterprise grade software development as a critical enabler through the project level description of the role responsibilities and impact within the organization. As a UX/UI Designer, you will work towards establishing a customer-centric design culture and developing a fit-for-purpose self-service data product as we move to become a product centric organisation.

Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate solid understanding and experience of common visual and interaction design principles and practice, and create appropriate sketches, wireframes, flows, and prototypes.
  • Value and apply existing customer insights from research to guide design decisions as well as initiating and supporting research efforts with research partners.
  • Frame problems and opportunities clearly through analysis of qualitative and quantitative inputs, and customers and stakeholders' perspectives.
  • Propose creative communicative visualizations to deliver research insights to teams and stakeholders (eg. User journeys, personas, systemic maps).
  • Triangulate stakeholder vision, user insights, and cross-functional team discussion inputs, and integrate insights into design proposition.
  • Master the phases of design from initial sketching to wireframing and high-fidelity prototyping.
  • Apply and maintain design systems to deliver scalable, consistent UI components and interactions; adapt designs across platforms and devices to ensure cohesive user experiences.
  • Demonstrate experience in testing and iterating based on feedback, both with stakeholders and with users.
  • Create routine, informative communication materials explaining design decision-making rationale to team members and stakeholders.
  • Partner with product managers, engineers, and consultants to solve for customer problems leveraging an agile way of working.
  • Understand and incorporate desirability, feasibility, viability and strategic stakeholder constraints into the design.
  • Use ideation, design, and testing tools effectively (e.g. Figma, Miro, Dovetail); experience with GenAI and vibe coding tools (e.g. Bolt, Cursor, V0, Lovable) is a plus.
What You'll Bring
  • You have 2-5 years of professional experience with UX Strategy, UX Research, UX Design and UI Design.
  • You've worked with a variety of tools; you'll be able to recommend and use what you think is best e.g. Figma, Adobe Suite and others.
  • You have a wealth of experience creating design wireframes, prototypes, and mock-ups for developers to convert to code.
  • You have design thinking experience to discover problems and come up with creative solutions by thoroughly understanding users' goals, frustrations, and end-task.
  • You're collaborative and pragmatic with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, happy to mentor and develop others.
  • You have experience working in multi-disciplinary settings (with design, engineering and product teams).
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in; Visual Design, Human-Computer Interaction, User Experience, or related Design field.
  • You have a curious and entrepreneurial mindset, and you are ready to dive into different industries, types of user and stakeholder problems.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken. French is a plus.
