Purpose of the role:

  • The Head of North Africa is a pivotal role in executing Diageo's growth agenda across the NAF cluster.
  • This strategic position defines and delivers the growth strategy for the region and operates within a cross-functional leadership team to deliver key initiatives with high-impact partners.
  • The role leads and inspires a team of direct & indirect reports and provides leadership to extended teams within Diageo's distributor network across the cluster
  • The Head of NAF is responsible for creating and implementing the region commercial strategy and build the plan to win share.
  • The Head of NAF is responsible for leading the negotiation of trade terms with distributors and customers while deciding Diageo's best commercial set up by market with full accountability on efficient ways of working with distributors.
  • The Head of NAF will recommend the best applied brand strategy for their region.
  • The Head of NAF, will develop and launch RTM strategies aligned to Diageo's commercial objectives, mitigating risk and volatility in partnership with CR and the MENA MD.

About you

Leadership skills:

  • Lead a strong and engaged commercial organization anchored in distributor excellence across NAF markets.
  • Plan and deliver local production/bottling; set up RTM; drive distributor commercial and marketing structures; set portfolio, pricing, and commercial strategy.

Qualifications:

  • 10–12 years of commercial experience, including 5+ years in senior roles within matrixed, blue‑chip FMCG multinationals.
  • Strong commercial acumen, ideally developed through cross‑functional exposure, advanced numerical and financial skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence, persuade, and build credibility across levels and functions.
  • Exceptional analytical, persuasive selling, negotiation, and decision‑making skills.
  • Proven experience allocating and orchestrating resources to deliver ambitious growth targets.
  • Excellent coaching and relationship‑building skills, with a recognized track record as a trusted coach and peer.
  • Proven record of designing and executing winning commercial strategies in competitive markets while strengthening brand leadership.
