We are leading a confidential search for an experienced
Plant Manager
to join a multinational organisation within the
automotive industry
. The role will be based in
Kenitra (Morocco)
and is a key leadership position responsible for driving operational excellence, safety, quality, and productivity within a highly dynamic manufacturing environment.

Main Challenge

The Plant Manager will lead all operational activities at the site, ensuring that safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives are consistently achieved. Acting as the main link between corporate strategy and plant execution, this person will foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and high performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead daily plant operations to achieve production, quality, and delivery targets.
  • Develop and implement local plans, budgets, and processes aligned with global objectives.
  • Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Manage resources to deliver on financial targets and cost efficiency goals.
  • Oversee production planning, maintenance, logistics, and quality control activities.
  • Promote continuous improvement through Lean, Kaizen, and other operational excellence initiatives.
  • Drive employee engagement, development, and a strong performance culture.
  • Monitor key KPIs related to safety, productivity, and costs, implementing corrective actions when required.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Engineering, and HR to optimise results.
  • Represent the plant during audits, customer visits, and corporate reviews.

Requirements

  • University degree
    in Industrial, Mechanical, or related Engineering field.
  • Master's or MBA
    in Operations or Industrial Management is a plus.
  • Minimum
    5 years' experience managing large-scale operations
    within the automotive industry.
  • Proven experience leading multidisciplinary teams in complex industrial environments.
  • Experience in
    turnaround or transformation contexts
    , aligning local execution with regional strategies.
  • Strong track record in
    Lean Manufacturing
    , process optimisation, and cost reduction.
  • In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality systems, and HSE regulations.
  • Languages:
    Fluent in
    Arabic and English
    (mandatory). French, German or Spanish are valued.
  • ERP systems:
    SAP preferred (advanced level).
  • Familiarity with
    automation and digital manufacturing (Industry 4.0)
    tools is an advantage.
  • Continuous Improvement / Six Sigma
    certification preferred.
